For producer:Indico
As with all rec growers in this state these days it seems, Indico is also very much hit or miss (and in my experience, unfortunately, mostly miss). I stopped buying their bud a few years ago after getting tired of it being so dry and lifeless (the market wasn’t yet nearly as awful as it is now), but then I decided to try their Banana OG that was recommended by the budtender, and it was truly fantastic — fat purple nugs, nice cure, left my fingers sticky, smelled and tasted delicious, and the effects were on point. I was genuinely impressed with that one. Jokes on me, however, because I picked up some of their Bananaconda the other day, and it is the complete opposite in every way — so dry is crumbles to dust, muted smell and taste, harsh smoke, and minimal effects.

Update — since it doesn’t seem like anyone is routinely updating this site anymore, I’ll leave my most recent strain experience here. Tried the Platinum Durban and was once again underwhelmed and disappointed. Buds look nice at first glance, but not very frosty under a light. Weak smell, muted terps, minimal effects, and harsh smoke, all leading me to question if this was harvested way too early, which seems to be all too common with sativas these days given their longer flowering time. Look, if you’re not going to wait the time it takes to let them properly flower and mature, then simply DONT grow sativas ffs! Focus on strains that fit your time schedule instead of half assing and rushing a sativa because you’re just putting out mids with these rushed strains. Idk what the hell is going on at SPCY, but they need to dial it way back to what they were doing this time last year because what’s going on now is just not working. Dropping my rating down to 2 stars, and taking SPCY off my list of go-to growers. What a shame, the industry in this state is such garbage. Initial Review — If I would’ve reviewed SPCY a few months ago, I would’ve given them 5 stars as I was consistently impressed with their bud. However, my last few pickups since then have been incredibly disappointing and not worth what I paid. Idk what it is about this state, but it seems like every time a grower starts gaining significant popularity, their quality starts becoming inconsistent and steadily declines. Not sure what’s going on, but I hope they can get back to the quality that boosted their reputation.

This is, hands down, the WORST bud I’ve wasted my money on all year so far — congrats, guys! I once heard someone describe Indico as “beautiful bud that smokes like shit”, and that couldn’t be more accurate. Buds looked nice at first glance, but I cannot stress enough how ridiculously dry this bud is, I bet the nug would shatter if dropped from a reasonable height. Smell is almost nonexistent, smoke is harsh, and it tastes like a straight up campfire. Nothing about this experience was enjoyable, money 100% wasted. Im taking Indico back off my list. Their bud is just too big of a gamble, and they obviously do not give a single shit about maintaining any semblance of quality standard. After trying Indico again for the first time after swearing them off a few years ago, I’ll admit that I was very impressed with their Banana OG, which is what convinced me to give this strain a try, but to then be handed THIS garbage for the same price is downright offensive. Half of the “good” reviews giving this company 2nd place have to be from their friends or family or something because there is NO way Indico is even top 5 in this state right now.

Incredibly disappointing, especially for the price. Very dry bud, muted smell and taste, harsh smoke. SPCY is becoming more and more hit or miss imo.

This one was very disappointing. The buds looked pretty good at first glance, but everything else was a bust. Smell was very muted, strong scent of hay with faint hint of fruity. Buds were very dry and felt powdery, I could easily break it up between my fingers, and throwing a humidity pack in the jar for a few days did nothing, buds were still weirdly dry and airy and felt powdery. Smoke was very harsh, no discernible terps, just tasted burnt. Not sure if this bud was harvested too early, if it’s been remediated, or both, but I’m pretty bummed I paid the same price as I have for other SPCY strains of much higher quality.
